Happy release day to @alexandrakaymusic & her incredible team for her sophomore album”Second Wind”! 🤘🏼 SO proud to have co-written the song “Feminine Energy” w/ my talented friends @andrewecapra @laurenmclamb @rockobeall & AK herself.
We wrote that song on a writers retreat in Albany, NY last year when AK had a couple days off while she was on tour w/ @jellyroll615 & I got to work with some of my favorite people writing songs for the album.
It’s also where I got to hear several songs I wrote be sung live to a packed arena for the first time from the audience. I’m so glad that milestone came from you AK. Thank you to you & your incredible team for always believing in the songs we create.

@brettjamessongs was a one of a kind voice & songwriter. Anytime I had the chance to go see him live I would go out of my way to be there. I did it to remind me why I moved to Nashville, to sing & write songs like that.
This video is from the last time I saw Brett in person. He was playing my buddy @stormewarren ‘s writers round @exit209withstormewarren with two of my other hero’s @wensongs & @leethomasmiller I for sure wasn’t gonna miss those 3 on stage at the same time. So, I wrote a song in the morning on music row & walked down to Broadway to see them play. I had no idea it would be the last time I’d shake Brett’s hand & hear him sing “Jesus Take The Wheel” in person but it was as magical as ever.
Brett, I didn’t know you as well as I wanted to but I’m gonna miss you like I did. And I’m gonna pray for your family & loved ones like I did.
