Written by Matt Wynn & Stevie Steeves after hearing stories at a recovery retreat in Wyoming, “How to Pray” was inspired by a woman who, at rock bottom in jail, fell to her knees and cried out to God—despite never believing or praying before. Rooted in raw, human vulnerability, the song explores the instinct to reach for hope when words fail. It’s about the realization that you don’t have to know how to pray to begin.
